In this two day workshop, we will explore printing with watercolor paints and watercolor drawing media. We will draw and paint on silk screens, frosted vellum or sanded plexiglass plates, and then print the images onto paper using the press. This process can be combined with other monotype techniques to enhance prints with soft, transparent coloration. Mary Mead first saw this process in practice on Joan Snyder’s exquisitely colorful prints in which botanical subject matter and words splash across the paper.
