Photo Emulsion Etching with Sheri Hancock 10 am - 4 pm, Sunday, April 6, 2025
Join printmaker Sheri Hancock in exploring green printmaking techniques using Solarplate, a photo emulsion etching process. This amazing, green, printmaking technology allows you to use UV light to develop your image (yes, you can use the SUN) and tap water as a solvent to etch your plate!
Participants will learn how to transfer an artist image, illustration or photograph to transparent film and then onto a photosensitive plate. Controlled exposure of the plate to light will cause the image to be etched. Sheri will show all the steps, from exposure to etching to inking and printing the plate.
Workshop includes three 8” x 10” Solarplates.
